This volume includes excerpts and notes from 1845 to 1850, a key phase in the work of Marx and Engels. A focus is placed on the continuation of Marx’s Manchester Notebooks. It includes the “Daniels List,” the most systematic catalogue of Marx’s personal library through 1850. Among Engels’s works, the volume contains his military notes from the Reichsverfassungskampagne, a movement to adopt the constitution developed by the Frankfurt Assembly.
